POSITION SUMMARY
In accordance with the Transformative Change Accord: First Nations Health Plan, the Tripartite First Nations Health Plan, and subsequent agreements, this position is responsible for managing and leading the First Nations Health Directors Association (FNHDA) Secretariat – a function of the interim First Nations Health Authority (iFNHA).
The Secretariat is responsible for providing effective leadership, support, strategic advice, planning assistance and facilitation for the FNHDA under the direction of the Board of the FNHDA and the supervision of the Vice Chair iFNHA Board of Directors. The Executive Director, FNHDA Secretariat will undertake a leadership role that will enhance the consistency and quality of the FNHDA’s activities and functions; the ultimate goal of the role is to support the FNHDA to be a successful, effective and efficient provincial body supporting BC First Nations Health Directors from mandated First Nations health organizations.
The Executive Director, FNHDA Secretariat will work collaboratively with the iFNHA Senior Management Team and will support the FNHDA to work effectively with the First Nations Health Council, as the BC First Nations political representative body in health matters, and with tripartite government partners.
