Core to the FNHDA’s mandate is providing members with opportunities for learning and skills-building that help to build Health Director capacity. Programs are created by Health Directors, for Health Directors — an approach that ensures Health Director perspectives inform curriculum development.
Health Director Certificate Program
For practicing and aspiring Health Directors, the Health Director Certificate is the flagship program of the Centre for Indigenous Health Leadership (CIHL). It is a professional credential that builds skills, capacity and connection. The program is designed for the unique BC First Nations health context and empowers Indigenous health professionals to confidently lead health and wellness in their communities, and Nations.
Structured as an eight-course, multidisciplinary program for practicing Health Directors, the Certificate combines different areas of study such as finance, healthcare, governance and communications. Selected topics have been identified as foundational to Health Directors with courses facilitated (taught) by subject matter experts.
