Hope, Help and Healing: Vancouver Island Gathering

Please note NEW DATES for the Vancouver Island Hope, Help & Healing Forum. We’ve received notification of significant scheduling conflicts with other events throughout the region. As this is a priority area for all Vancouver Island Nations we want to ensure maximum participation and have moved our dates to accommodate this. The new dates will be April 20-21, 2016.

First Nations Health Authority, Vancouver Island region, in partnership with Cowichan Tribes, are excited to be hosting the regional roll out of the Hope, Help & Healing Toolkit.

Work is currently underway to support individual community planning around suicide prevention, intervention and post-vention. This gathering will highlight achievements of the 50 Vancouver Island First Nations in the creation of their suicide response plans as well as increase awareness of the Vancouver Island Crisis Response Protocol that was developed with Island Health and First Nations Health Authority.

The gathering is scheduled to take place as follows:

DATE: April 20 & 21, 2016
TIME: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm (Breakfast and lunch provided each day)
LOCATION: Tigh-Na-Mara Resort (1155 Resort Drive, Parksville)
