National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMWIG2S)

May 4th, 2026

We uplift and honour missing and murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and members of the 2S/LGBTQIIA+ community and recognize the sacred role they hold within our families and communities. This National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMWIG2S), or Red Dress Day, is an important time to reflect and come together to raise awareness about those who should still be with us.

Wearing a red dress shirt, pin, or earrings is one way to start a conversation and show solidarity.

The FNHDA stands with families and communities who have lost loved ones as they continue to work toward healing, justice, and change.
