Call to Participate in Research Project: “Reconciliation in Practice”
How are you and your community enacting the TRC’s Calls to Action? What do the Calls to Action look like in practice? Join us for a sharing circle that centres the meaningful work you do as a First Nations Health Director to create health system change in your community.
We invite you to participate in Reconciliation in Practice, a research project that is considering how First Nations Health Directors in BC are advancing the TRC Calls to Action through their everyday leadership, service delivery, and health governance work.
This work is supported by the FNHDA Board of Directors, which has reviewed and approved the project and is providing governance and oversight throughout the research process.
This project is important because it will help document the knowledge, strengths, and experiences of Health Directors and contribute to ongoing conversations about advocacy, policy, and health system change.
The survey is anonymous and the results of both the sharing circle and survey will be shared with FNHDA members once we’ve completed the project.
As part of this project, we are asking our members to complete the online survey as soon as possible. It should take you 10-15 minutes to complete.
Your time and responses are really valuable to us and will make all the difference for this project!
Reconciliation in Practice Sharing Circle
This gathering on April 16 offers an opportunity to reflect on how you are putting the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Calls to Action into practice through your daily work and through the collective role of the FNHDA. The session will highlight the expertise and wise practices you bring to navigating health governance and service delivery. Together, we will also reflect on how the FNHDA supports and uplifts this leadership, advancing reconciliation in practical, community-driven ways across British Columbia. Ideally attendees will have filled out the survey before joining the circle.

About this FNHDA-led Research Project
This FNHDA-led research project is grounded in the knowledge and experiences of our members. The wisdom and stories shared during this circle will form part of the FNHDA’s research for a paper tentatively titled: “Reconciliation in Practice”, which will be submitted to Health Management Forum for publication. The research will be conducted in accordance with the First Nations Principles of OCAP® and the CARE Principles for Indigenous Data Governance.
All research is guided by OCAP® principles and governed by the FNHDA.
